Access To Council Meeting

Council ChambersUnfortunately, due to restrictions related to COVID-19, the public will not be able to attend the May 4th Statesville City Council meeting in person. To make sure the public is given access to the meeting, the City is offering several options for viewing and participating in the May 4 meeting.

To view/listen to the meeting only:

The meeting will be streamed live at www.statesvillenc.net/live. Recordings of the meetings are available on the City’s YouTube channel.

The meetings are broadcast live on Spectrum Cable Channel 20.

To listen via Zoom, please email the Clerk’s Office by noon on May 4 with your full name and address. You will receive detailed instructions by email on how to join the meeting on Zoom by phone or computer. You will not have access to speak during the meeting.

To submit comments on one of the public hearing items:

Please submit comments in writing by email to the Clerk’s Office by noon on May 4 along with your full name, address and the public hearing item you are commenting on. Comments will be read during the Council meeting and entered into the minutes. Comments submitted without the requested information will not be read or entered into the minutes.

To speak during the meeting, email the Clerk’s Office by May 4 along with your full name, address, phone number and public hearing item. You will receive detailed instructions by email on how to join the meeting on Zoom by phone or computer.

Monday’s meeting agenda contains two public hearings. One hearing is for the request to annex 8.33 acres of property located adjacent to 110 Vance PO road.

The second hearing is for the request to rezone this same property from IC-CB (Iredell County Community Business) to R-8MF (Medium Density Multi Family Residential Conditional Use).

The property owners are planning to build 60 residential units for independent senior housing.
The public hearing for the annexation and rezoning were originally set for the March 16, 2020 Council meeting and have been continued twice.
