West Front Street and Monroe Street Small Area Plans

The City of Statesville initiated revitalization and redevelopment plan for the West Front Street and Monroe Street corridors, addressing gateway improvements, land use conflicts, and sustainable growth.

Project Timeline & Investment

  • April 22, 2025 at 6:00 PM
    The plan will be presented to the Planning Board.

  • May 27, 2025 at 6:00 PM
    The plan will be voted on by the Planning Board.

  • June 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM
    The plan will be considered for approval by the City Council.

All meetings will be held in the Council Chambers at Statesville City Hall, 227 S. Center Street, Statesville, NC 28677.

Funding Sources

Funding for the small area plans was fully paid for by an Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Assessment Grant.

Why This Project Matters

The plan outlines ways to improve two important areas in the city: West Front Street and Monroe Street. For West Front Street, the goal is to make it a livelier area with more businesses and homes. For Monroe Street, the focus is on better integrating industrial and residential areas to support growth and functionality.
