City of Statesville offices, including the Customer Service office, will be closing early at 4:00 PM today due to inclement weather.

Statesville Recreation & Parks Department:

Due to inclement weather, all Statesville Recreation & Parks Department parks and facilities will be closing at 2pm today, 01/10/25, and will be closed on Saturday, 01/11/25, to include:

Youth Leagues Update: Basketball games scheduled for Saturday, 01/11/2025, are canceled. Games will be rescheduled for a later date.

As winter weather approaches, the City of Statesville is working diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents. Here’s how various city departments are preparing for the expected storm on Friday:

Road Crews Ready to Clear the Way

  • The Public Works Department began treating roads early, starting around noon yesterday. All vehicles have been inspected, fueled, and are ready to hit the streets as soon as the storm begins. Crews will be working through the night on Friday to keep roads as clear and safe as possible.

Electric Department On Standby

  • The Electric Department has additional staff on call throughout the weekend to address any potential power outages. They are also partnering with Public Works by driving trucks to assist with snow removal efforts, ensuring a swift response to hazardous conditions.

First Responders Prepared

  • The Statesville Fire Department (SFD) has increased staffing levels to respond to emergencies and assist residents during the storm. All vehicles are fueled and ready to roll.
  • The Statesville Police Department (SPD) has additional officers on standby to provide assistance on Friday and Saturday, ensuring public safety throughout the storm.

Citywide Collaboration

  • Employees from various city divisions have stepped up to volunteer their support, demonstrating the commitment to working together during challenging conditions.

Power Outages and Emergencies

  • For emergencies, call 911 immediately for emergency assistance.
  • Report power outages to the Electric Utilities Outage Line at 704-878-3419.
