National Child Abuse Prevention Month

This April, the City of Statesville is proud to stand in solidarity with six child-centered agencies for National Child Abuse Prevention MonthWith a staggering 3.9 million reports made to child protective services across the country in the Federal fiscal year 2023, it's more important than ever that we come together to shine a light on this critical issue.

This month, the Children's Hope Alliance, Iredell County Department Of Social Services, Dove House Children's Advocacy Center, NC Guardian ad Litem, Iredell County Partnership for Young Children, and Pharos Parenting are joining forces in our community.

Their invaluable efforts aim to foster a safe environment for our children, raising awareness and driving change where it's most needed.

As a symbol of our collective commitment to preventing child abuse, the City is once again turning its bollard lights blue at our crosswalks in Downtown Statesville throughout April. Additionally, a street banner will be displayed at Broad Street for the first week of the month, serving as a poignant reminder of the ongoing fight against child abuse.
