Training Overview

Anhydrous ammonia leak training is a crucial component of our preparedness efforts. Here's what you need to know:

  • Hazard Recognition: The training starts with understanding the properties and potential hazards associated with anhydrous ammonia. This knowledge is vital for first responders to make informed decisions in emergency situations.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Our personnel are trained to wear the appropriate PPE, including specialized chemical-resistant suits, masks, and goggles, to protect themselves while responding to ammonia leaks.
  • Leak Control Techniques: SFD firefighters are trained in techniques to control and mitigate leaks, such as shutting off valves, plugging leaks, and containing the spread of ammonia.
  • Evacuation and Sheltering: Ensuring the safety of nearby residents is a top priority. Our training includes procedures for evacuating the affected area and sheltering individuals at risk.
  • Decontamination: After managing the leak, proper decontamination
