Downtown Street/Sidewalk Update

Last Updated 6/14/2023Posted in Latest City News, Homepage

The City received an update from the structural engineer regarding the fire damaged buildings on S. Center Street, and unfortunately one of the front walls has been deemed unstable.  The sidewalk and part of the parallel parking in the southbound lane will remain closed for the safety of our citizens. The City is continuing to work with the property owners, and we hope to have better news soon.

The Public Works/Engineering Department reconfigured a new traffic pattern that allowed some of the parallel parking in the southbound lane to be reopened near the intersection of S. Center and Court Street.

Please continue to use caution while traveling though this area!
