Waterline Project

The Waterline Replacement Project follows a standard notification process to keep residents informed. We aim to provide a one-week heads-up before work reaches your area, followed by a two-day door-hanger notice when construction will be close to your home. During active work, the contractor will assist with getting in and out of driveways, and steel plates can be placed over open trenches if immediate access is needed. Driveway access is typically affected for only a few hours while crews install the pipe and backfill the area, and at least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times. If you have questions about the Waterline Project, please contact Public Utilities Director Bill Vaughan.

Current Road Closures (Waterline Project)

  • 06/10/2026: The contractor working on the Waterline Project will close Brevard Street between Stockton Street and Davie Avenue today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to complete tie-ins to the new waterline. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route and use caution when traveling in the area. We appreciate your patience as we continue making improvements to our water infrastructure.
